Toxic Free Home

When disposed of in the trash or poured down a sink or storm drain, the toxic chemical components in products like paint, turpentine, acid or lye-based cleaners, household and car batteries, pesticides, and herbicides will damage the environment by ending up in Clear Lake or other waterways endangering the health of all - children, wildlife, pets, and the environment. Household hazardous waste is collected from Lake County residents Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. once per month at various locations around Lake County.

Most items are accepted free. Businesses must make an appointment by calling 468-9710 and a small fee will apply. Dates, locations, and times are availble on the schedule page.
